Hi Adam -

Really appreciate the piece. Thinking about potential financial markets impacts: can you envision what might cause populist political impulses to be channeled to the root causes here, not just Washington’s contrived boogeymen?

I figure the persistent, horseshoe theory-esque populist pressure across both sides of the aisle means the architecture here could come under fire in the future, posing tail risks today that are not reflected in equity valuations. However, the coziness of corporate C-suites, especially Big Tech, with this White House and prior Democratic ones gives me pause. I figure further economic pain among those most disadvantaged by the current regime might be necessary to tip the scales.

Thanks!

An extremely well argued case for toxic interaction between neoliberal world ideologies and political and social pressures for never ending growth, irrespective of consequences. China did not steal anything. It subsidized America, with benefits accruing to select few.
